Category: Fellow Wessel Braakman, M.Sc.

Wessel Braakman works in Quality Assurance and has spent the past 12.5 years focusing on software testing, verification, and automation. He currently serves as AI Subject Matter Lead (Fagansvarlig AI) for the QA department at Bouvet ASA in Norway. In that role, he helps shape how QA teams approach AI in practice, including tooling, certifications, competence building, governance, and identifying both opportunities and risks around AI adoption in software projects.

Originally from the Netherlands and now based in Norway, Wessel is also one of the founders of NAIE (naie.no), where he works on localized AI benchmarking efforts such as NoBBQ. His focus is on measuring cultural and linguistic bias in local (in this case Norwegian) contexts that are often overlooked in global evaluations. Rather than treating AI ethics as something purely theoretical, he is interested in creating practical and measurable ways to evaluate AI systems in real-world use.

We cannot govern what we cannot measure.
