Africa’s democratic future depends on institutions outpacing the speed of manufactured truth. As an AI policy practitioner, I work at the intersection of emerging technology and civic integrity, with a particular focus on how synthetic media and algorithmic disinformation threaten electoral credibility across the continent. Aula’s mission to build a global network of leaders who govern technology in the public interest mirrors my own: that the communities most exposed to AI’s risks must be most represented in shaping its rules. My work is an act of civic stewardship.
