Sarah Bahrami is an AI anthropologist working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, culture, and social inclusion. She is currently an AI Research Coordinator at Mila, supporting interdisciplinary research initiatives that explore how AI systems are shaped, governed, and adopted across diverse communities.

 

Bahrami has extensive experience collaborating with Indigenous communities in Canada to advance ethical, community-centered AI projects. She also contributes to initiatives empowering women and girls in STEM and AI through mentorship, leadership development, and inclusive innovation, including work with Voice of Olympia Canada, Women in AI Canada, and national AI hackathons. As an Aula Fellow and Emboldly Leadership Fellow, she continues to build leadership capacity in responsible AI and the broader AI research ecosystem.
