Hager Hesham Mustafa, M.A., is a Cairo-based data journalist and computational media researcher with 14+ years of experience in investigative reporting and data journalism, with a focus on stories exposing economic and social discrimination. She is the founder of Anmat, an independent initiative applying NLP and machine learning to detect narrative framing and bias in media coverage at scale. Her published research includes a comparative study of LLMs and Arabic BERT on 10,990 Gaza war headlines, and a 15-country expert evaluation of AI chatbots on civic and human-rights topics. She has trained journalists across the Arab world in data-driven reporting and serves on the faculty of the AI in Journalism Diploma at the American University in Cairo.
