Gwendolyn Alston is a marketing strategist and publishing professional with extensive experience designing and executing outreach and impact campaigns for independent film. Gwendolyn holds a PhD in Comparative Literature and co-manages MocaMedia, an agency specializing in impact, outreach, and marketing strategies for films addressing social, environmental, and cultural issues. Founded in 2008, MocaMedia launched with A Sea Change, a documentary on ocean acidification and climate change that screened on all seven continents and received multiple awards, including the NOAA Environmental Hero Award. Since then, the agency has supported a wide range of projects as both consultants and hands-on strategists.
In addition to her professional work, Gwendolyn has taught digital marketing and social media management at institutions including Berklee College of Music (Valencia campus), Syracuse University in Madrid, EDEM Business School, and the Escuela de Música Reina Sofía.
