Alfred Sawadogo is an AI policy researcher working at the intersection of technology, public policy, and applied research. His work focuses on AI governance for the public good, with particular attention to regulatory frameworks and responsible AI principles that address systemic risk and societal impact.
As a Research Group Member for the Center of AI and Digital Policy, his research focuses on identifying significant AI policy news, assessing country AI policies and practices, and emerging trends in AI policy, with a focus on human rights and global AI frameworks. As a country researcher for the Global Center on AI Governance, he supported the GIRAI project (Global Index on Responsible AI) in collecting data related to fairness, transparency, privacy and data protection, sustainability, inclusion and diversity, and the use of AI in public service delivery.
He holds a PhD in Telecommunications from the University of Lille, where his doctoral research focused on terahertz photonics and next-generation wireless communications.
