Aizhan Tursunbayeva is an Associate Professor of organization studies at the University of Naples ‘Parthenope,’ where her work focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, the future of work, and organizational governance. Her research examines how digital technologies reshape employment relationships, work arrangements, and institutional frameworks, with particular attention to responsible and inclusive AI adoption.

 

She serves in multiple editorial leadership roles, including Senior Associate Editor at the European Management Journal for AI and the Future of Work and Organizations, Guest Editor at Personnel Review on fluid workers and fluid work arrangements in the age of digital technologies, and Associate Editor at the International Journal of Human Resource Management. She is also an HR Division Ambassador for the Academy of Management, contributing to scholarly community-building and field development.

 

Beyond academia, Atursunbayeva has advised international organizations on responsible AI and labor governance, including as a consultant to the International Labour Organization and as an AI for Good Scholar with the International Telecommunication Union. Her earlier professional experience includes management consulting at KPMG Italy. She has held academic appointments across Italy and the Netherlands and has taught at both undergraduate and graduate levels in management and human resources.
